Joy H. has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Joy began their career as a News Reporter at The Liberty Champion in 2012. Joy then worked as a Videographer for 90 Seconds Around Liberty in 2013, followed by a role as a Writer/Host-Editor at Option LU. In 2014, they interned at the Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA) and served as a Communications Intern at the Office of Assistant Secretary General, as well as a Public Information Officer of the 18th Model of the Permanent Council for OAS Interns (MOAS/PC). Joy then joined Liberty University, first as a Public Speaking Graduate Student Assistant from 2014 to 2016, and later as a Marketing Project Coordinator in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Esperanza Inc. as a Media & Marketing Associate, and then as a Marketing Communications Manager from 2018 to 2020. Most recently, they have been employed by the City of Philadelphia, starting as a Communications Manager in the Office of Transportation, Infrastructure & Sustainability from 2020 to 2021. Joy then advanced to the position of Deputy Communications Director within the Office of the Mayor from 2021 to 2023, and subsequently became the Senior Deputy Communications Director for the Office of the Mayor from 2023 to present. Joy is currently serving as the Director of Communications for the City of Philadelphia's Rebuild program.

Joy H. completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Communication Studies: Broadcast Journalism from Liberty University in 2014. Joy then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Strategic Communications from Liberty University, which they completed in 2016.
