Lina Velasco

Lina Velasco has extensive work experience in the field of urban planning and development. Lina began their career in 2002 as an Assistant/Associate Planner at the City of Vacaville. In 2005, they joined the City of Richmond as a Senior Planner and held this role until 2020. During their time at the City of Richmond, they also served as the Planning Manager from 2018 to 2020 and as the Director of Planning and Building Services from 2019 to 2020. Currently, they are the Community Development Director at the City of Richmond.

Lina Velasco completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Chicana/o Studies with a minor in Public Policy at UCLA from 1995 to 2000. Afterward, they attended Cornell University from 2000 to 2002 for their City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning program, but no degree information is available for that period.
