Shawna Boakes

Shawna Boakes has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Shawna began their career in 2000 as a Communications Designer at IBI Group. In 2002, they moved to Ambassador Engineering Solutions as a Controls Designer before transitioning to ATS Robotics and Controls in 2003 as a Robotics Engineer. Shawna then returned to Ambassador Engineering Solutions in 2005 as a Project Engineer. In 2006, they joined Dillon Consulting Limited as an Associate, Electrical Engineer, where they worked until 2018. During their time at Dillon, they held various roles and responsibilities. In 2018, Shawna Boakes joined the City of Windsor as Manager of Traffic Operations. Shawna later moved up to the position of Senior Manager, Traffic Operations and Parking in 2019, and finally became the Executive Director of Operations in February 2022, where they currently work.

Shawna Boakes obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Engineering from the University of Windsor between 1996 and 2000. In 2014, they began an online program in Human Resources Management and Services at HRPA. Shawna completed this program in 2017. Shawna also holds additional certifications including Traffic Signal Level II Design, obtained in April 2017 from IMSA-International Municipal Signal Association, and Roadway Lighting Technician, Level 1, obtained in June 2016 from the same institution. There is no information provided regarding the obtainment of the Traffic Signal Level I certification.
