Tom Cohen

Tom Cohen has a diverse work experience in the field of compensation and analysis. Tom started with GTSI as a Compensation & Benefits Manager in 1996 and then worked as a Compensation Manager at Baan. Tom later joined Spacenet as a Director of Compensation & Benefits. In 2002, they became an independent HR Consultant specializing in compensation and HRIS. After that, Tom worked at Qiagen/ formerly Digene Corporation as the Director of Compensation & HRIS, where they successfully implemented compensation programs to attract and retain key talent. Tom then joined a Total Rewards/HR Consulting Practice as a Consultant before joining Ratner Companies as a Senior Compensation Manager. At Ratner Companies, Tom developed and implemented compensation plans to improve company profitability and reduce turnover. From 2020 to 2022, they were self-employed as a Total Rewards/Compensation Consultant, where they designed and implemented compensation plans for small to midsize companies and government agencies. Currently, Tom holds the role of Managing Director, Compensation & Analysis at City Year since April 2022. Their expertise lies in compensation strategy, market analysis, salary planning, and HRIS improvement.

Tom Cohen attended the University of Pittsburgh from 1979 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Tom later pursued further education at the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business from 1988 to 1989, although details about the degree program and field of study are not provided.
