Alicia M. King, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has extensive experience in human resources and talent management roles. Alicia is currently serving as the Vice President of People & Culture at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, where they lead the HR function and implements a modernized vision for the employee experience. Prior to this, they worked as a Human Resources Consultant at Transforming Visions. Alicia also held the position of Director of Human Resources at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., where they built an organizational culture aligned with the mission and supported strategic plans. In their previous roles, Alicia served as the Director of Talent Acquisition at Urban Institute, the Director of Talent Management & Inclusion at SHRM, and the Senior Manager of Talent Management at Comcast and Southeastern Grocers. Throughout their career, Alicia has demonstrated expertise in driving talent acquisition, diversity, and performance management initiatives that align with business strategies.
Alicia M. King, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University. Alicia later pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix.
In terms of additional certifications, Alicia obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in August 2009. Alicia then acquired the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM in June 2015. Alicia also holds a GE Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from GE, obtained in March 1999.
Furthermore, Alicia received certifications in ADKAR Change Management from Prosci in August 2016 and Extended DISC from Extended DISC USA - Canada - UK - Singapore in July 2016.
