Jon Southard

Jon Southard has extensive work experience in the field of real estate investment and analysis. Jon currently holds the role of Senior Vice President at Clarion Partners LLC, where they have been employed since July 2019. Prior to this, Jon worked as the Head of Research and Strategy at Southard Advisory and Research from January 2017 to December 2019. In this position, they provided strategic consulting services to real estate investment firms, offering expert reviews of their data and analytics strategies.

Before that, Jon was the Vice President and Chief Economist at NORC at the University of Chicago from January 2015 to January 2017. During their time there, they oversaw the development of a software-as-a-service product called ForeGround and provided executive advisory to internal and external clients.

Jon's extensive experience also includes a role as Principal and Director of Forecasting at CBRE Econometric Advisors from January 2008 to December 2014. In this position, they led a team of economists and programmers, delivering macro strategy and econometric predictive analytics to real estate investment clients.

Additionally, Jon held the positions of Director of Debt Management and Valuation and Chief Economist at CBRE / Torto Wheaton Research from 1993 to 2008. In these roles, they led the development of a software product in collaboration with Moody's, provided client support and marketing, and delivered white papers and conference presentations.

Throughout their career, Jon has demonstrated expertise in real estate investment analysis, data analytics, and strategic consulting.

Jon Southard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Carleton College. Additionally, they have obtained a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Brown University.
