Gabriel Smith

Gabriel Smith has extensive work experience in software development, quality assurance, and management roles. Gabriel most recently worked at Classy as an Engineering Manager, overseeing cloud infrastructure and performance. Prior to that, they served as a Software Development Manager and Test Engineering Manager at the same company. In these roles, Gabriel collaborated closely with various teams to deliver high-quality software and ensure the highest software quality standards.

Before joining Classy, Gabriel worked at ResMed as a Senior Software Engineer in Test and Tester/Breaker of things/Automater of things, where they were responsible for testing and automating web-based systems used in the medical industry.

Earlier in their career, Gabriel was a Scrum Master/Senior Software Engineer in Quality at Intuit, where they played a leadership role in the development of a new content management system. Gabriel also worked as a QA Lead/Senior Software Engineer in Quality at Intuit, where they implemented process improvements and managed the release process.

Gabriel's work experience also includes roles as a Software and Hardware QA Engineer at Control Systems International, where they helped companies upgrade automation systems, and as a Software QA Engineer at PeopleSoft, a leading provider of enterprise application software.

Throughout their career, Gabriel has demonstrated a strong focus on software quality and has experience in various aspects of software development and testing.

Gabriel Smith has a diverse education history. In 1985, they joined the US Air Force where they underwent various trainings such as Basic Training, Law Enforcement Academy, K-9 Handler Training School, and Explosive Detector K-9 Handler. Gabriel served in the Air Force until 1989.

In 1997, Gabriel attended the Computer Learning Center Technical School (CLC) and obtained a Technical Certificate in Systems Engineering and programming. Gabriel continued to expand their knowledge by completing additional certifications in System Programming (C, Unix, Cobol, RPG) from the Computer Learning Center INC in March 1998.

In 2007, Gabriel completed the C# .Net Professional Training Course at Hands-on Technology Inc. Gabriel also obtained a Scrum Master certification from Ken Schwaber at Intuit in April 2007.

To further enhance their skills in computer science, Gabriel pursued a Java Developer Certificate from UC San Diego Extended Studies from 2016 to 2018.

Most recently, from 2018 to 2021, Gabriel attended Southern New Hampshire University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Software Engineering.

In addition to their academic achievements, Gabriel possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in areas such as Behavior Driven Development, Testing, and Law Enforcement.
