Nicholas McMurray has a diverse work experience in the field of nuclear energy and engineering. Nicholas started their career as a Technical Co-Op at GE Lighting before moving on to work as a Research Assistant at The Ohio State University, where they focused on developing a Molten Salt Reactor for Mars colonization. McMurray then worked as a Student Engineer at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where they conducted research on duplex stainless steel for the Westinghouse AP1000 reactor. Nicholas joined Allegheny Ludlum as a Process Metallurgist, where they inspected and improved quality control for steel products.

Returning to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, McMurray joined the Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program (NSPDP) and held various positions, including General Engineer, Reactor Operations Engineer, and Reactor Inspector. During this time, they gained extensive training and hands-on experience in nuclear safety inspections and advanced reactors. McMurray also contributed to the development of the NRC's Non-Light Water Reactor Vision and Strategy.

Most recently, they have been working at ClearPath as the Managing Director of Public Policy, overseeing the organization's nuclear program and advocating for nuclear energy policies. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Program Director for Nuclear Energy at ClearPath.

Nicholas McMurray attended Saint Ignatius High School from 2003 to 2007. Nicholas then pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Materials Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University from 2007 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Nicholas obtained certifications such as the CSIS Accelerator Series - 2020 Cohort from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in March 2021, and the edX Verified Certificate for Sustainable Energy (MIT: 22.811) from edX in December 2020.
