Siân Kleindienst began their professional career in 2003 as a Junior Researcher at Energy Photovoltaics. In 2005, they joined Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Teaching Assistant. In 2007, they became a Partner at KGS Buildings, LLC, a Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Clockworks Analytics, and an Energy and Daylighting Intern at Sasaki Associates, Inc.

Siân Kleindienst's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Building Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2006 to 2010, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Building Technology from MIT from 2004 to 2006, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Harvard University from 1999 to 2003.
