Position Overview:

Cognixion Corp. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Staff Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in advancing our machine learning capabilities, with a focus on signals-oriented approaches, especially in the domain of biological signals. The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a relevant field and bring a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying machine learning models.

Responsibilities:

  1. Research and Development:
  • Lead the design and implementation of advanced machine learning algorithms, with a particular emphasis on biological signals-oriented methodologies.

  • Investigate and apply state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning to enhance the capabilities of our products.

  • Innovate and develop new intellectual property that contributes to the competitive positioning of Cognixion.

  1. Biological Signals Expertise:
  • Leverage a deep understanding of biological signals, including EEG, ECG, and EMG, to develop innovative solutions and insights.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biological signal processing into our products.

  1. Model Training and Evaluation:
  • Develop, train, and optimize machine learning models for real-world applications, ensuring high performance and accuracy.

  • Establish rigorous evaluation metrics and methodologies to assess the effectiveness of developed models.

  1. Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and UX/UI designers, to integrate machine learning solutions seamlessly.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

  1. Continuous Learning:
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in machine learning, signals processing, and related fields.

  • Contribute to the company's knowledge base through the publication of research papers and participation in relevant conferences.

Must Have Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.).

  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience in signals-oriented machine learning.

  • Strong expertise in biological signals, including EEG, ECG, and EMG.

  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and deploying machine learning models.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and relevant machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience with wearable computing, augmented reality or similar human-machine interfaces.

  • Industry/commercial experience with demonstrated outcomes in the form of products or technologies that have translated from research to production.

  • Publication or patent record demonstrating contributions to the field.
