John Alderman

John Alderman has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several industries. John is currently serving as the Head of Strategic Communications at Colonial Pipeline Company since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the North America Corporate Affairs Director at Sage from 2020 to 2022. In this role, they led a talented international team and focused on communication strategies to enhance the company's reputation and engagement. Before Sage, John served as the Senior Director of Executive and Internal Communications at Equifax from 2016 to 2019, where they played a crucial role in handling crisis communications in the aftermath of a data breach. John also worked as the Director of Executive Communications at Cox Automotive Inc. from 2013 to 2016, closely collaborating with the president on strategic plans and communications. John began their career in the Georgia National Guard in 1991, where they held various positions of increasing complexity and responsibility over a span of 20 years, including serving as a Public Affairs officer. John also worked at UPS as a Customer Communications Supervisor from 2003 to 2009, managing publications and handling executive communications.

John Alderman attended the University of North Georgia from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a B.A. in English. John then pursued an M.A. in English from Georgia State University, completing it between 1997 and 2000. In 2008, they attended the Defense Information School to complete the Public Affairs Qualification Course. Additionally, they obtained certification as a Project Manager from the Project Management Leadership Group, completing the program in 2002.
