Lauren Becker McMaster joined the Office of the General Counsel for the CSU System in 2019. Prior to joining the Office of the General Counsel, Lauren served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Higher Education Unit at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, where she represented the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Fort Lewis College, and Colorado Mesa University. From 2011-2014, she worked in the Office of University Counsel at the University of Colorado Boulder. Lauren specializes in advising on matters related to board governance, Title IX, and student affairs. She holds a J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School and a B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Lauren was raised in Littleton, Colo., and is a graduate of Columbine High School. She currently resides in northwest Denver.
