Brian Garcia

Brian Garcia has a diverse work experience in communications and leadership roles. Brian worked as the Alumni Association National VP of Communications at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, where they focused on promoting active leadership in the community. Prior to that, they were the Communications Director at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the Communications Director at the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association. Brian also served as the Communications Director in Congressman Juan Vargas' Office and the Press Secretary in Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia's Office. Additionally, Brian has experience as the Communications Director in Supervisor James R. Walkinshaw's Office in the Fairfax County Government. Brian started their career as a Press and Staff Assistant in Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia's Office, where they handled various responsibilities such as drafting newsletters and managing the official website. Before their political career, Brian worked as an Executive Assistant at Bountiful Contractors LLC, where they played a key role in obtaining licensing and managing marketing efforts. Brian also gained experience as a Client Service Representative at Netflix.

Brian Garcia attended George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government, where they pursued a degree in Government and International Politics with a focus on Public Policy and Administration. In addition to their academic qualifications, Brian obtained various certifications, including the Latino Hill Staff Academy from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) in 2023, the Staff Up Congress Legislative Academy and the Staff Up Congress Communications Academy from the NALEO Educational Fund in 2022. Brian also holds a Class A Residential Building Contractor certification from the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation since June 2018 and is a Notary Public in the Commonwealth of Virginia since July 2018.
