Sigurdur Skarphedinsson

Sigurdur Skarphedinsson has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Sigurdur currently works at Controlant as a VP Product - Device Management. Prior to this, they held positions as VP Device Engineering and Product Owner - Hardware at Controlant. In 2020, they were the Director of Business Development at Arctic Adventures Iceland, where they were responsible for the operation of Into the Glacier and Adventure hotels. From 2014 to 2020, Sigurdur worked at Into the Glacier as the Managing Director, overseeing the company's growth from its initial stages. Before that, they worked at AGR Dynamics as a Senior Technical Consultant and Software Developer. Sigurdur also has experience as the Co-owner/CFO of Bike Company Iceland and as an Embedded Software Engineer, Area Sales Manager, and Sales Engineer at Marel. Additionally, Sigurdur has worked as a Programmer at Ræsir and in Risk Management at Kaupþing.

Sigurdur Skarphedinsson completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering from Háskóli Íslands in 2001. Additionally, they attended Universidad de Granada in 2001 to study Spanish. In 2002, they enrolled in the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where they completed a Master's degree in Cybernetics in 2004.
