Chief Medical Scientist and Pathologist, David C. Wilbur, MD, is leading the medical efforts for Corista’s artificial intelligence studies. Dr. Wilbur is focused on the use of technology to improve physician workflows, productivity, and accuracy.
Prior to retirement from clinical practice, Dr. Wilbur was Director of the Cytopathology Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital and led the Pathology Department’s initiative in clinical digital pathology. Dr. Wilbur remains Professor of Pathology Emeritus at Harvard Medical School.
A graduate of Johns Hopkins, Dr. Wilbur earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester. He has authored over 200 scientific papers and is the co-editor of the 3rd and 4th editions of the popular textbook Comprehensive Cytopathology, as well as several other pathology texts. He has received numerous awards for his work in pathology, including The College of American Pathologists President’s Honors, Lifetime Achievement, and Distinguished Service awards. He is a Past-President of the American Society of Cytopathology and in 2010 received that society’s highest honor – the Papanicolaou Award.
