Akshay Padwal

Akshay Padwal has held two positions in the engineering field. In 2018, they were the Mechanical Engineering Team Lead at Covetool. Akshay then became a Senior Energy Engineer at the same company. In this role, they modeled different HVAC systems to evaluate the best option for optimal energy consumption, as well as performed LEED/ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G compliance energy modeling on various building types. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Florida. In this role, they proposed an energy model for the city of Gainesville, developed an algorithm using MATLAB to calculate floor area from GPS coordinates, and collaborated with a team to generate a python script for calculation of HVAC load for each building using EnergyPlus.

Akshay Padwal has a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans Sardar Patel College Of Engineering, which they obtained in 2016 after four years of study from 2012. Akshay then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florida, which they obtained in 2018. Akshay also holds certifications from ASHRAE (Load Calculations, obtained in 2021), Green Business Certification, Inc. (LEED AP Building Design + Construction, obtained in 2020) and edX (Data Science for Construction, Architecture, and Engineering, obtained in 2020).
