Rod Spearin started their work experience as a Credit Officer at Old Kent Bank in 1976. Rod then joined Ford Motor Company in 1982, where they worked as a Finance Manager for 18 years. In 2000, Rod joined Visteon Corporation as a Finance Director and was later leased back to Ford at Automotive Components Holdings, LLC, where they worked on selling or closing component plants. Rod then moved on to Automotive Components Holdings, LLC in 2005 as the Director of Strategy and Business Office. In 2012, Rod became the Chief Operating Officer at Cranbrook Educational Community.

Rod Spearin has a solid educational background in business administration and finance. Rod obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University, where they studied from 1972 to 1976. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance at Western Michigan University from 1979 to 1982.
