Sophie Rugg

Sophie Rugg has worked in the biopharmaceutical industry since 2018. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Senior Scientist in Analytical Development at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, where they developed and executed analytical methods to characterise biopharmaceutical products. Sophie also maintained GMP awareness training and actively participated in maintaining high safety and integrity standards within the analytical development laboratories. In 2020, they joined Crescendo Biologics Limited as a Research Scientist, where they ran analytical methodologies to determine quality and stability of biopharmaceutical products. Sophie also developed and optimised analytical methods, authored and updated SOPs and technical reports, and purified proteins using ÄKTA chromatography systems.

Sophie Rugg completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biology from the University of York between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they earned an MRes in Structural Biology from Birkbeck, University of London in 2013-2014. Sophie also received a BSc (Hons) in Medical Sciences from the University of Leeds between 2010 and 2013.
