Malena Funegra

Malena Funegra has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Malena is currently the CEO of Culqi, a position they have held since January 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Banco de Crédito BCP, where they held various roles. From March 2018 to January 2021, they were the Director of Budget and Management Control. From April 2015 to March 2018, they served as the Director of FX and Derivatives Business. And from September 2010 to March 2015, they held the position of Director of Corporate Strategy and M&A.

Before joining Banco de Crédito BCP, Funegra worked at Standard Bank Group as the Senior Vice President of Syndicated Loans Structuring & Execution from March 2007 to December 2009. Prior to that, they were a Vice President of Corporate Finance at Banco de Crédito BCP from March 2003 to March 2007.

Funegra's career began at J.P. Morgan, where they worked as an Associate in the Mining Group from August 2000 to February 2003.

Overall, Funegra has held various leadership positions in major financial institutions, showcasing their expertise in areas such as budget and control, foreign exchange, corporate strategy, and syndicated loans structuring.

Malena Funegra completed their bachelor's degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, from 1989 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance and Corporate Strategy at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, from 1998 to 2000.
