Tiffany Suekama

VP of Research and Development at Current Foods

Tiffany Suekama has a wealth of experience in research and development, project management, and manufacturing engineering. Tiffany began their career in 2006 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant with Dr. Travis Bailey at Colorado State University, where they explored the use and production of amphiphilic polymer-based hydrogels in biomedical and biological applications. In 2009, they continued their studies at The University of Kansas, where they earned their PhD in Polymer Chemistry. In 2011, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant with Dr. Jian Ping Gong at Hokkaido University, creating tough bio-based double-network hydrogels with improved mechanical properties. In 2013, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant with Drs. Angus Johnston and Georgina Such at the University of Melbourne, imaging to visualize polymer network structures of hydrogels and synthesizing self-assembled macromolecular structured particles. In 2014, they were a Project Engineer at LC Therapeutics, where they worked on research and product development, project management, risk analysis, and testing for FDA submission of three cardiovascular devices. In 2016, they joined Imperative Care as a Manufacturing Engineering Project Manager, where they handled emergent situations such as down grade of material and discontinuation of material, and established a production yields team and increased yields 15. In 2020, they joined TRUVIC as a Project Manager, where they progressed a series of devices from first concept to submission readiness. Currently, they are the VP of Research and Development at Current Foods.

Tiffany Suekama received their Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Colorado State University in 2008, followed by their Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from The University of Kansas in 2014.
