Derek E. Mires has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in clinical development and oncology research. Derek E started their career at Clinical Care Options as an Editorial Assistant in 2009 before transitioning to become an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of Arizona in 2008. In 2011, they took on the role of Clinical Pharmacology Intern in Oncology at Novartis.

In 2010, Derek joined Walgreens Pharmacy as a Student Pharmacist until 2013. During this time, they gained valuable experience in the field of pharmacy.

Derek's career took a major leap in 2013 when they joined Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. Derek E started as a PharmD Fellow in Clinical Development, where they focused on studying the efficacy and safety of various drug therapies. In 2015, they were promoted to Manager, Clinical Development, where they played a critical role in the planning and execution of phase III global clinical trials in hematology/oncology.

Derek E'sdedication and expertise led to subsequent promotions within the company. In 2017, they were promoted to Associate Director, Global Oncology R&D, followed by another promotion to Director, Global Oncology R&D in 2020. Currently, Derek holds the position of Senior Director, Global Team Leader, Global Oncology R&D, a position they have held since August 2022.

Derek E Mires completed their education history with a Fellowship in Clinical Drug Development at St. John's University from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a PharmD degree in Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University from 2009 to 2013. Derek E'sundergraduate education was at the University of Arizona, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from 2005 to 2009. In terms of certifications, they are a Certified Immunizer accredited by the American Pharmacists Association. Additionally, they hold pharmacy licenses in New Jersey, New York, and Virginia.
