Paul Ayers has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Paul started their career in 2008 as a Courier at FedEx Express, where they provided exceptional customer service and handled customs clearance procedures. In 2013, they joined IBM as an Informix DBA and Software Engineer, where they resolved software issues and provided troubleshooting assistance to clients. Paul was promoted to a Senior Informix DBA role and also worked as an Advanced Technical Support Engineer, specializing in resolving critical or down system issues. In 2017, Ayers joined HCL Technologies as a Senior Technical Specialist, focusing on Informix support and ensuring 24x7 client assistance. Paul continued this role after HCL acquired the company. Since 2018, Ayers has been working at DataStax, initially as a Technical Support Engineer and later moving to a Premium Support role. At DataStax, they have provided outstanding support for DataStax Enterprise software, which is built on Apache Cassandra and includes various components like Spark, Solr, Tinkerpop Graph, K8ssandra, and Astra.

Paul Ayers obtained a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Mathematics from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Paul also obtained two additional certifications: "M102: MongoDB for DBAs" from MongoDB, Inc. in July 2014, and "IBM Certified System Administrator - Informix" from IBM in October 2013.
