Florian Böing-Messing, PhD

Florian Böing-Messing, PhD has diverse work experience in the fields of data science, statistics, and consulting. Florian currently holds the position of Senior Data Scientist at Datenna. In this role, they utilize their expertise to analyze and interpret data for the company.

Prior to joining Datenna, Florian worked as a Data Science Instructor and Mentor at Jheronimus Academy of Data Science from December 2017 to November 2021. During their tenure, they trained over 200 students in data science and supervised 11 students in writing their master's theses in various sectors.

Florian also served as a PhD Candidate in Bayesian Statistics at Tilburg University from September 2012 to October 2017. Florian'sresearch focused on developing new methods to understand heteroscedasticity in data, resulting in publications in four prestigious scientific journals.

Before their PhD, Florian worked as a Chief Statistics and Data Science Consultant at Elisabeth-TweeSteden Ziekenhuis (ETZ) from January 2016 to August 2017. Florian provided expert guidance on more than 20 medical and healthcare projects, contributing to improved treatment effectiveness and patient well-being.

Additionally, Florian gained professional experience as an Inhouse Consultant at Deutsche Bahn AG | DB Training, Learning & Consulting from December 2007 to August 2010. Florian conducted research and wrote their bachelor's thesis on individual human values in businesses during this period.

Florian Böing-Messing, PhD pursued their education in a chronological manner. In 2004, they enrolled at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Psychology in 2008. Following this, they undertook further studies at Utrecht University from 2010 to 2012, earning their Master of Science (MS) degree in Methodology and Statistics of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
