Rob Reddy

Scientist at Deka Biosciences

Rob Reddy has over 10 years of work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. In 2007, they began as a Research Associate II at the Human BioMolecular Research Institute, where they participated in assay development and variant identification for a directed evolution project involving a human serum protein. In 2010, they became a Research Associate at Western University of Health Sciences, where they helped initiate a high-throughput crystallization laboratory. That same year, they also joined Takeda San Diego, Inc. as a Contract Membrane Protein Expression Research Associate, constructing and testing baculovirus vectors for production of baculovirus amenable to membrane protein expression. In 2012, they joined Althea Technologies as a Contract Research Associate, assisting an independent consulting group with process development for purification of a newly off-patent drug. In 2013, they returned to Western University of Health Sciences as a Consulting Research Associate, training graduate students on techniques used to produce protein from molecular biology to FPLC purification steps. In 2014, they joined Bayer as a Contract Research Associate, evaluating antibody binding characteristics of chromatography resins and characterizing protein quality and yield using HPLC and ELISA. In 2015, they joined Merck as a Contract Biochemist III, evaluating single parameter changes to protein purification processes and conducting and authoring a 210 cycle FPLC based anion exchange resin reuse study. In 2016, they joined MESO SCALE DIAGNOSTICS, LLC. as a Research Associate III, conducting process development and scale-up for calibrators and antigens used in a range of MSD immunoassays and root cause analysis of process issues. In 2020, they joined Paragon Bioservices, Inc. as an Associate Scientist III, executing, qualifying, and developing cGMP methods for the assay of AAV gene therapies, lentiviral gene therapies, and next generation vaccines. In 2022, they joined Deka Biosciences, Inc. as a Scientist.

Rob Reddy holds a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Hood College and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry & Cell Biology with a Minor in Philosophy from UC San Diego.
