We are currently looking for an experienced  Data Quality Assurance Engineer with expertise in ontologies, taxonomies and data structures who will also oversee enterprise quality initiatives. 

As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability and integrity of our data-driven products and services, while also implementing enterprise-wide quality standards and best practices. 

What your daily life will look like:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and execute quality assurance processes for biological ontologies, taxonomies, and data structures.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, cases and scripts.

  • Perform thorough testing of software applications, databases, and algorithms to identify and report inconsistencies.

  • Work closely with various teams and domain experts to troubleshoot issues and drive resolution.

  • Lead enterprise quality initiatives, including the development and implementation of standardized quality processes, procedures, and metrics across the organization.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, improvements and best practices.

  • Conduct training sessions to enhance the awareness and skills of Quality Assurance standards across the organization.

Your profile:

  • 5+ years of industry experience in a similar role with a track record of ontology development, QA strategy development, data modeling and analysis

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of biological ontologies, taxonomies, and data structures, with the ability to interpret and evaluate complex data sets.

  • Proven experience in quality assurance, software testing, or data validation, preferably in life sciences or bioinformatics industry.

  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python, R), Linux shell scripting, version control and python testing frameworks.

  • Experience in implementing and managing enterprise quality programs, processes, and tools.

  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

What is nice to have:

  • Knowledge of bioinformatics and biology.

  • Understanding of bioinformatics methodologies, algorithms, genomics, and molecular biology principles.

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum

  • Familiarity with High-Performance Computing and cloud computing systems.
