Mariela de Lucas Alvarez

Mariela De Lucas Alvarez is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) since July 2018, specializing in the Interactive Machine Learning Group. Prior experience at DFKI includes a Research Associate role and a Visiting Research Fellow position where collaboration focused on machine learning techniques for autonomous agents. Previous programming experience at Gameloft involved developing mobile video game applications. Mariela holds a PhD in Shallow Neural Networks for Autonomous Robots from Heriot-Watt University and has completed additional PhD studies at the ROBOCADEMY European Academy for Marine and Underwater Robotics. Mariela also earned a Master of Science in Computer Vision and Robotics and multiple Bachelor’s degrees in Cybernetic Electronics across several institutions.
