Sohum Misra

Sohum Misra has had a varied career in the robotics and engineering fields. In 2021, they began as a Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Dusty Robotics. In 2020, they were a Sensor Fusion Development Intern at MathWorks. In 2019, they were a Senior Sensor Fusion and Tracking Intern at MathWorks. In 2018, they were a Research Intern at MathWorks. In 2017, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Cincinnati - College of Engineering and Applied Science, where they worked on cooperative localization problems, optimal landmark placement for cooperative navigation, and other research. In 2015, they were a Graduate Assistant at Utah State University, where they were a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses and a research assistant at the Robust Intelligent Sensing and Control (RISC) Lab. In 2014, they were an Internship at SkyBits Technologies Pvt. Ltd., where they worked on making a novel low cost and user controlled mobile surveillance system (PiRover). Sohum also had a Summer Internship at Rockwell Automation in 2014 and an Internship at Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC) in 2013.

Sohum Misra obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Heritage Institute of Technology in 2011-2015. Sohum then went on to earn their Master's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Utah State University in 2015-2016. Following this, they obtained a Machine Learning certification from Coursera in September 2014. Sohum then completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from the University of Cincinnati - College of Engineering and Applied Science in 2016-2020.
