David Nilosek

SVP of Software and Data Engineering at EarthOptics

David Nilosek has worked in a variety of roles in the software engineering and imaging science field. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Rochester Institute of Technology, where they applied computer vision techniques for image analysis and understanding to remote sensing applications. In 2010, they were a Graduate Intern at Pictometry International Corp., where they aided in the automation of three dimensional structure measurements. In 2012, they were a Graduate Intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory. From 2013 to 2021, they worked at EagleView, where they held various roles, including Senior Director of Image Processing, Senior Software Engineering Manager, and Research Scientist. In 2020, they became the Owner of Nilotech Consulting, LLC, contracting with PhotonicSentry to develop and deploy a laser-based mosquito elimination system, working on the computer vision algorithms in the embedded system as well as developing the system infrastructure. In 2021, they became the VP of Software Engineering and Imaging Science at HySpecIQ. Currently, they are the SVP of Software and Data Engineering at EarthOptics.

David Nilosek obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Imaging Science from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009. David then continued their education at the same school, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Imaging Science - Remote Sensing in 2014. In 2020, they received a certification as a Triplebyte Certified Generalist Software Engineer from Triplebyte.
