Dave Peacock

Dave Peacock has a diverse work experience in various senior engineering and software development roles. Dave is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Ebb Carbon since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Saildrone Inc from 2014 to 2023, where they held multiple positions including Principal Engineer, Senior Director of Vehicle Systems, Director of Robotics, and Lead Software Developer. At Saildrone Inc, they were responsible for developing new capabilities of Saildrones pertaining to Ocean Science, managing the integration of science-grade measurements, driving data analysis and visualization efforts, and overseeing embedded software and back-end storage and APIs.

Before Saildrone Inc, Dave worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Hadal, Inc from 2012 to 2014, where they brought the company's software development and workflow to a mature and scalable level. Dave also worked as a Lead Platform Engineer at Live Colony from 2011 to 2012, where they played a key role in defining technical constraints, developing prototypes, and designing the underlying data model and RESTful API for the social networking startup.

Dave has also gained experience in the film industry, working as a Senior Software TD at Dr. D Studios from 2010 to 2011, where they led two teams of developers to deliver projects. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior VFX Developer at Rising Sun Pictures from 2009 to 2010, where they overhauled the review system and mentored other developers. Dave also worked as a Senior Pipeline TD at Laika from 2008 to 2009, where they guided core system architecture and designed the editorial workflow and data pipeline. In addition, Dave worked as a Senior Software Engineer at mental images from 2006 to 2007, where they developed innovative shader IDE components and handled release management. Dave started their career at BFC in 2004, where they served as a Pipeline Supervisor/Senior TD, building a team and developing toolsets for a full-length CG feature film. Dave worked as a Senior Software Engineer at ESC Entertainment from 2002 to 2004, focusing on asset management and render queue system development for the Matrix sequels.

Dave Peacock attended the University of California, Davis from 1990 to 1994. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science.
