Ashley Barry

Ashley Barry has a diverse and extensive work experience. Their most recent role is as the Director of Strategy and Learning at Education For Employment - Global (EFE-Global), which they started in January 2022. Prior to that, they held positions such as Director of Organizational Learning and Training and Director of Organizational Learning at EFE-Global, overseeing various aspects of monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and learning approaches and delivery for programming in multiple countries. Ashley also worked as a Senior Evaluation & Learning Manager, where they led fundraising, budgeting, and implementation of a project management system and secured philanthropic gifts. Ashley has experience in education and non-profit organizations, having worked as a Philanthropy Coordinator at The Nature Conservancy and as a Faculty Member at Middlebury College Arabic School. Ashley also has prior experience in the tech industry, having worked as a User Operations Analyst at Facebook, where they were involved in content moderation and site integrity.

Ashley Barry's education history begins with obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Near Eastern Languages and Literatures: Arabic from the University of California, Berkeley, which took place from 2004 to 2008. During this time, they also attended the Arabic School at Middlebury College in 2007. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, where they earned a Master of Public Administration degree in International Development from 2010 to 2012.

In 2008, Ashley Barry participated in a summer fellowship program at The American University in Cairo, focusing on Arabic study abroad. Additionally, they attended Dixon High School for an unspecified period, prior to their college education.

In terms of additional certifications, Ashley Barry obtained a certification in Designing Strategy from IDEO U in December 2022, and also completed Foundations in Design Thinking from the same institution in December 2020.
