Karen Mercer

Karen Mercer has extensive experience in human resources, spanning over a decade. Their most recent position was with Embark Behavioral Health as the Human Resources Director, which they began in March 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Human Resources at Encompass Health from August 2021 to February 2023. From December 2020 to August 2021, they worked in the Human Resources department at Envision Physician Services. Karen's previous experience includes roles at Aveanna Healthcare, where they worked as the Director of People Services from December 2019 to November 2020, and at Lovelace Health System, where they held various positions such as Human Resources Director, HR Manager, Human Resources Generalist, and Human Resources Specialist from 2009 to 2019. Their responsibilities in these roles included overseeing recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance.

Karen Mercer earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from National American University between 2018 and 2022. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from the same institution. Karen also holds additional certifications, including a Human Resource Management Certificate and Nuts and Bolts of Human Resources Certificate from The University of New Mexico. Karen is also a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certified by HRCI and a Public Notary certified by the State Bar of Arizona.
