Theresa Carlos is an emerging professional in the field of biomedical engineering, currently serving as the NJIT Outreach Coordinator and TOM Fellow at TOM Tikkun Olam Makers since August 2023. Theresa has gained valuable experience through various internships, including a role as a Design Assurance Quality Engineering Intern at Medtronic, where a Stability drug coating process change report for a Drug Coated Balloon Catheter was led. A research internship at Children's Specialized Hospital focused on evaluating Continuous Glucose Monitor outcomes in pediatric patients. Additionally, Theresa worked as an office assistant in the Biomedical Engineering Department at New Jersey Institute of Technology and contributed as an undergraduate research assistant in two labs, analyzing brain connectivity in Parkinson’s disease and assisting in the development of a point-of-care diagnostic device. Theresa holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, anticipated in May 2025, and previously completed education at Middlesex County Academy for Allied Health & Biomedical Sciences.
