CFO at Erno Laszlo

Avery Tuchman is the current CFO at Erno Laszlo. Prior to this, they were with World Finer Foods from June 2014 to February 2017, where they served as Vice President - Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Avery was responsible for all aspects of finance, accounting and treasury for the $200 million revenue specialty food marketing and distribution company.

During their time at World Finer Foods, Avery developed a quarterly scorecard of key performance indicators to reinforce the organization's focus on driving growth, profitability, shareholder value, risk mitigation, and resource optimization. Avery also drove working capital improvement initiatives, such as brand and SKU rationalization and adjustments in vendor payment terms, which resulted in significantly increased revolver availability.

Avery challenged the organizational status quo on pricing, vendor costs, and expenses, and increased the focus on contribution margin, resulting in a 1.6% improvement over a two year period. Avery also decreased the leverage ratio from more than 7x to below 4x over a two year period.

In addition, Avery created a detailed annual budgeting process by brand and SKU, including modeling of monthly balance sheet, cash flow and fixed charge compliance. Avery also implemented a Euro/USD hedging strategy to minimize exchange rate and pricing risk. Finally, they built a robust finance department by upgrading talent level, mentoring staff, streamlining tasks, and increasing accountability to improve quality, reliability, and usefulness of financial information.

Avery Tuchman has a MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business and a BS in Accounting from Yeshiva University.
