Kangchan Lee has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology standards and research. Kangchan started their career in 2001 at ETRI, where they served as the Director of the Service Standards Research Section. In 2002, they joined the W3C Korea Office as the Deputy Manager. In 2010, they became a Member and Editor at ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC38. From 2002 to the present, they have held various leadership positions at TTA, including Vice-Chairman of PG605 and Chairman of WG6052. Additionally, Kangchan Lee has been actively involved in standardization activities related to cloud computing, serving as the Rapporteur of Q17/13 and Q.26/13 at ITU-T, as well as the Chair of Standard Working Group at the Big Data Forum and the Chair of Standard Development Working Group at the Cloud Computing Forum in Korea. Kangchan is currently a Member at ISO TC 307 and ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42. In 2014, they joined the University of Science & Technology as a Professor. Overall, Kangchan Lee has extensive experience and expertise in the field of IT standards and research.
Kangchan Lee pursued their education at Chungnam National University, where they obtained a Ph.D in Computer Engineering with a focus on Database from 1996 to 2001. Prior to their doctoral studies, they earned a Master's degree in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Database from the same institution starting from 1994 and ending in 1996. In their undergraduate years, Kangchan Lee studied Computer Engineering, completing their Bachelor's degree at Chungnam National University from 1988 to 1994.
