Yiğit Öner Altıntaş

Earth Observation Data Services Engineer at EUMETSAT

Yiğit Öner Altıntaş has worked as an Earth Observation Data Services Engineer at EUMETSAT and Innoflair starting from August 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Researcher and Student Assistant at the Helmholtz-Centre Potsdam - German Research Centre GFZ from September 2020 to May 2022. In this role, they were involved in the artificial light at night team and contributed to a multi-national citizen science project. Yiğit Öner conducted numerical analysis, icon design, and GIS work, and developed Python scripts for night light data. Yiğit Öner also designed a conference handbook and processed feedbacks for more than 100 abstracts. In 2018, Yiğit worked as an Erasmus + Intern at Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz.

Yiğit Öner Altıntaş completed their Master of Science degree in Remote Sensing, Geoinformation and Visualization at the University of Potsdam from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering at Ankara University from 2012 to 2019. Before attending university, they attended Mustafa Azmi Doğan Anadolu Lisesi from 2008 to 2012, although no specific degree or field of study is provided for this period.
