Stuart Crosby has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Stuart began their career as a Research Scientist at Tocris Bioscience in 2001 and worked there until 2003 before transitioning to the role of Senior Scientist. At Tocris Bioscience, Stuart was responsible for evaluating potential new commercial products, guiding synthesis by team members, troubleshooting problem syntheses, and designing and executing synthetic routes to key compounds within strict deadlines.

In 2005, Stuart joined Takeda as a Medicinal Chemist and worked on three drug-discovery projects, including oncology and CNS-related research. Stuart addressed a wide range of ADMET and synthetic issues and played a significant role in achieving two key stage-ups on a lead CNS project. Stuart also co-authored a patent for research on H3 antagonists.

In 2010, Stuart moved to Domainex as a Medicinal Chemist. Stuart worked on both internal research programs and client-led medicinal chemistry projects, contributing to the successful design of compounds with suitable pharmacokinetic properties and regularly presenting data and results at client meetings. Stuart also had responsibility for overseeing outsourced research and process development.

Since 2015, Stuart has been working at Evonetix Ltd. Stuart initially joined as a Principal Scientist, where they spearheaded a research program to develop a novel chemistry for writing DNA. This involved setting up labs from scratch and planning, resourcing, and executing the research program. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Synthetic Chemistry at Evonetix Ltd.

Stuart Crosby completed their undergraduate education at the University of Bristol from 1994 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Following this, they pursued higher studies at the same institution and obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from 1997 to 2000.
