Steve Courtney

Executive Vice President, Head Of Strategic Alliance Management at Evotec

Steve Courtney has had extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in drug discovery and chemistry operations. Steve most recently served as the Executive Vice President and Head of Strategic Alliance Management at Evotec. Prior to that, they held various senior leadership roles at Evotec, including Senior Vice President of Global Alliance Management and Senior Vice President of Drug Discovery & Chemistry Operations. Before joining Evotec, Steve worked at Oxford GlycoSciences as a Group Leader in Discovery Chemistry. Steve also has research and academic experience, having worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Portsmouth and as a Research Associate at the University of Strathclyde and the University of British Columbia.

Steve Courtney earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde, studying under Dr G R Proctor, from 1987 to 1990. Prior to that, they completed a GRSC Part 2 degree in Chemistry at the University of the West of Scotland from 1986 to 1987. Steve also obtained a GRSC Part 1 degree in Chemistry from Glasgow Caledonian University from 1983 to 1986.
