Andrew Rau has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Andrew started their professional career in 2007 as an R&D Intern at B. Braun Medical, Inc. In 2008, they worked as a Fitness-For-Service Consulting Group Co-op at The Equity Engineering Group, Inc., where they conducted evaluations of existing petrochemical equipment. During this time, they also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Pennsylvania State University, specializing in engineering design and optimization. In 2010, Andrew joined Exponent, where they held various positions, starting as an Associate and progressing to Senior Associate, Managing Engineer, and finally, Senior Managing Engineer. At Exponent, they provided consulting services in experimental design, computational modeling, failure analysis, and risk assessment for the medical device, pharmaceutical, and consumer electronics industries.

Andrew Rau attended Lakeview High School, but the specific dates of their education are unknown. After completing high school, they enrolled in Lafayette College from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Penn State University from 2008 to 2010, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to their academic qualifications, Andrew Rau obtained a certification as a Licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania from the State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists in December 2015.
