VP Of Engineering at Exterro

Jeremy Mailen has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Jeremy started their career in 1999 as a Senior Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman, where they played a technical lead role in developing systems for the Federal Aviation Administration. Jeremy co-authored a technical response that helped secure a five-year follow-on FAA contract.

In 2008, Jeremy joined Symantec as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer and later became the Technical Director on the Data Loss Prevention team. Jeremy was responsible for developing features such as User Risk Insight, which allowed enterprises to filter high-risk users of sensitive data. Jeremy also worked on new products like DLP Data Insight and User Risk Reporting.

From 2013 to 2014, Jeremy worked at Lookout as a Principal Software Engineer, leading the iOS product team and delivering the first premium version of Lookout Mobile Security for iOS. Jeremy also coordinated with other teams to ensure smooth product launches.

Jeremy then moved on to Trifacta in 2014, where they served as a Principal Engineer and led multiple projects on the Trifacta data wrangling platform. Their core feature development skills in Node.js, Java, Javascript, and Python were instrumental in the success of those projects.

In 2016, Jeremy joined Gladly, Inc. as a Software Engineering Manager and played a player/coach role, building teams and defining product strategy for the Gladly Enterprise Customer Service Platform. Jeremy also led the Integrations product team, focusing on building connectors, APIs, and infrastructure to enable other services to integrate with Gladly.

Most recently, Jeremy became the VP of Engineering at Exterro in 2023, through the Divebell acquisition. Jeremy is excited about driving technology innovation in data discovery and data risk across the product portfolio.

Jeremy Mailen earned a B.F.A. degree in Studio Art and a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University in 1999. Jeremy later pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas from 2005 to 2007.
