Dave Capka

Dave Capka, PE, has extensive experience in dam safety and engineering. Since April 2006, Dave has held various positions at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, currently serving as the Director of Dam Safety and Inspections. Prior to this role, Dave was the Deputy Director and HQ Branch Chief of Dam Safety and Inspections, as well as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. From May 2005 to April 2006, Dave worked as the Dam Safety Program Manager at the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and from May 1996 to April 2005, served as a Geotechnical Engineer with the US Army Corps of Engineers. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland.
