Courtney Miller O'Mara has a diverse work experience in various legal roles. Courtney Miller began their career as an Intern at The Heritage Foundation in 2001. Courtney Miller then served as a 6th Grade Teacher at Nativity Prep Academy from 2002 to 2003. In 2004, they worked as a Judicial Extern at the California Courts of Appeal, where they conducted legal research and wrote draft opinions for civil and criminal cases. From 2005 to 2006, they were a Certified Law Student at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. In 2005, they also worked as a Summer Associate at Ross, Dixon & Bell.

In 2006, they became a Law Clerk to United States Magistrate Robert A. McQuaid, Jr. at the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. From 2007 to 2014, they worked as a Litigation and Creditors' Rights Attorney at Lionel Sawyer & Collins, dealing with a wide range of legal practice areas.

Starting in 2013, they became Co-president of the Northern Nevada Bankruptcy Bar Association, serving until 2015. In 2015, they joined Fennemore Craig, P.C. as Of Counsel, focusing on civil litigation with an emphasis on business litigation, creditors' rights, trusts and estates litigation, and bankruptcy litigation. Courtney Miller then became a Director (Partner) at the same firm in 2017, specializing in trusts and estates matters, business litigation, creditors' rights, and bankruptcy litigation. Throughout their career, Courtney Miller O'Mara has worked extensively on various litigation matters, including contract disputes, business disputes, and commercial loans.

Courtney Miller O'Mara's education history begins with their attendance at Roy Gomm Elementary School from 1986 to 1992. Following this, they pursued their high school education at Bishop Manogue High School, where they received an Honors Diploma from 1994 to 1998. Moving forward, Courtney attended the University of Notre Dame from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in the Program of Liberal Studies. Lastly, they went on to study at the University of Southern California from 2003 to 2006, earning a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
