Mitchell Gillespie

Mitchell Gillespie has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. In 2010, they worked as a Lead Software Engineer at the University of Guelph, where they developed a web application for fishery management decision-making. Mitchell then joined Wave HQ in 2012, starting as a Software Engineer and eventually becoming a Product Manager in different areas such as Payroll, Invoicing & Payments, and Payments & Risk. During their time at Wave HQ, they led the delivery of credit card payment processing integration and championed the Wave-Stripe product integration, contributing to significant growth in payment processing volume. In 2015, they became the Head of Product at Street Contxt. In 2016, they worked as an Educator in Product Management at BrainStation, where they shared their professional experiences with students. From 2017 to 2020, Mitchell served as the Director of Product Management at Wave HQ. Mitchell then joined Exhibition Capital in 2020 as a Portfolio Advisor/Support. In 2022, they started working as an Occasional Instructor at Mind the Product and as a Partner, Advisor & Venture Support at Thin Air Labs. Mitchell currently holds the position of VP Strategy & Data at Fillip.

Mitchell Gillespie obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Guelph. Mitchell attended this university from 2003 to 2008. Subsequently, Mitchell pursued further education and completed their Master of Science degree in Applied Computer Science from the same institution, studying there from 2008 to 2011.
