Danny L.

Danny L. has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Danny is currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Finch Computing since 2022. Prior to that, they founded Hagg.ai in 2021, where they built and maintained threat intelligence data models for monitoring global antisemitism and Jewish threat intelligence.

From 2020 to 2022, Danny held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Transformania. Before that, in 2019, they co-founded Dataxet, a leading data intelligence business in SE Asia. Danny played a key role in developing and maintaining the network backend, nodes, NLP, and front-end for TrackCov.id, a COVID-related news monitoring dashboard.

In their earlier career, Danny co-founded Shanghai Boshiyuan Advertising Co., Ltd. in 2004, which provided advertising and marketing services across China. The company was later acquired by a local private equity firm in 2021. Danny also served as the Regional Director, Asia, at Isentia from 2017 to 2019.

In 2012, Danny founded Kovurt, a cybersecurity company focused on internet privacy. Danny led the company as CEO, Chief Product, and Chief Technology Officer, overseeing the development of the Kovurt online privacy software service. Danny scaled the company to over 220,000 paying users within three years.

Before that, Danny worked as the Managing Director, Technology, at Matoka Capital from 2011 to 2019. In this role, they provided technical advisory for M&A deals, investment due diligence, and project consulting related to various IT needs. Danny also served as the Publisher and Managing Editor at ChinaTechNews.com, the world's first and largest independent English-language daily news source dedicated to covering China's technology sector.

Danny's entrepreneurial pursuits include founding China Newswire in 2016, a PRTech and media intel service that was later acquired by Isentia.

Throughout their career, Danny has showcased their expertise in technology leadership, product development, cybersecurity, data intelligence, and strategic advisory.

Danny L. holds a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Danny also completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from The University of Hong Kong. Furthermore, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from William & Mary. In addition to their degrees, Danny L. has obtained certifications in Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in June 2022 and Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) from ISACA in December 2020.
