Elizabeth Tobey

Program Director at First Descents

Elizabeth Tobey has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Elizabeth started their career as an Outdoor Program Training Coordinator at Willamette University in 2012. Later, they worked as a Whitewater Kayak Guide at Small World Adventures from November 2014 to February 2015. From September 2013 to September 2018, they served as an Associate at ECO Resource Group. In 2015, they joined First Descents as a Program Director, where they were responsible for overseeing programs. In 2019, they joined Idaho River Journeys as a River Guide, focusing on guiding river trips. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Montana from August 2019 to May 2022.

Elizabeth Tobey earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Environmental Science from Willamette University between 2008 and 2012. Elizabeth then pursued a Graduate Certificate in Natural Resource Conflict Resolution at the University of Montana from 2018 to 2019. Most recently, they completed their Master of Science (MS) degree in Resource Conservation with a focus on International Conservation & Development at the University of Montana from 2020 to 2022.
