Steven Abbott

Steven Abbott has a long and varied work experience. From 2022 to present, they have been the Vice President of Lab Operations at Flagship Biosciences, Inc. From 2013 to 2022, they held various roles at Q2 Solutions, including Director of Genomics Business Development, Director of Global Genomics Lab Operations, Associate Director of Genomics Lab Operations, and Manager of Next Generation Sequencing. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Research Scientist and Lab Associate II at Expression Analysis. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Research Associate II at Duke University, where they worked on the development of an early HIV vaccine candidate using Modified Vaccinia Ankara (MVA). From 2006 to 2010, they were a Research Associate at Luna Innovations Incorporated, providing lead technical and lab managerial support in a Molecular and Drug Discovery laboratory. Finally, from 2004 to 2006, they were a Research Assistant at Virginia Tech, where they maintained water rigs and worked on experiments testing disinfectant efficacy and long-term heat resistance in Legionella and Mycobacteria species.

Steven Abbott attended Virginia Tech from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences (Microbiology and Immunology).
