Alinafe Chibwana

Alinafe Chibwana is an experienced professional in climate change, rural development, and environmental management. Currently serving as Country Coordinator at the USDA Forest Service since November 2018, Alinafe has held significant roles including USFS-APM Coordinator at Management and Engineering Technologies International, Inc. (METI) and REDD+ Advisor at Tetra Tech. Previous positions include Malawi REDD+ Associate with the Malawi REDD+ Readiness Project and Climate Change Officer in the National Climate Change Program. Early career experiences included an internship at the International Poverty Reduction Center in China and roles such as Research Assistant at the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Monitoring and Reporting Coordinator at World Vision Malawi. Alinafe holds a Master of Science in Rural Development and Management from China Agricultural University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Bunda College, University of Malawi.
