Karlie Verkest De Young

Karlie Verkest De Young has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Karlie started their career as a Residential Computing Consultant at Southwestern University in 2000. Karlie then worked as a Software Development Specialist at Associated Colleges of the South from 2003 to 2004. From 2004 to 2007, Karlie worked as an Engineer at 21st Century Technologies. In 2007, they joined Eureka Software Solutions as a Software Solution Consultant/Developer until 2009. Karlie then worked at All Web Leads as a Software Engineer from 2009 to 2012.

In 2012, Karlie joined Argand Technologies as a Senior Developer. During their time there, they built software aimed at assisting high school students in getting into college. Karlie also took on roles such as team lead and principle architect and managed the company's production and development servers. Karlie implemented and managed continuous integration and production deployment processes and migrated the application to a Symfony2 MVC framework. From 2013 to 2014, Karlie served as a Software Development Manager at Vubeology, Inc. Following that, they worked at BlackLocus as a Principal Software Engineer from 2014 to 2022.

In 2022, Karlie joined Colossal Biosciences as a Senior Engineer. Form Bio later spun off as a separate company, and Karlie continued their role as a Senior Engineer in Form Bio. The company aims to bring back the woolly mammoth and develop gene therapeutics, vaccines, and other bioinformatics applications.

In 2005, they attended The University of Texas at Austin for Human Computer Interaction but did not complete a degree. Currently, they are pursuing Chinese Language and Literature at Austin Community College from 2021 to 2023, although no specific degree has been mentioned. Additionally, they hold certifications such as the Sitecore CMS 6.5 Certified IT Professional from Sitecore, and Suhaila Format Level 2 and Jamila Format Level 2 from the Salimpour School of Dance, obtained in 2012, 2018 (September), and 2018 (January) respectively.
