Stephen Turner has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and public health sciences. Stephen is currently serving as a Principal Bioinformatics Engineer at Colossal Biosciences and Form Bio since 2023. Previously, they worked at Signature Science, LLC as an Advisor and Senior Informatics S&T Advisor from 2019 to 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Assistant Professor of Public Health Sciences and Bioinformatics Core Director at the University of Virginia from 2011 to 2019. Stephen also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Hawai'i Cancer Center in 2011 and at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Ph.D. Candidate Researcher from 2006 to 2011.

Stephen Turner obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from James Madison University from 2002 to 2006. Stephen then pursued higher education at Vanderbilt University, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Statistics from 2006 to 2009. Stephen continued their academic journey at Vanderbilt University and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Human Genetics from 2006 to 2010.

In addition to their academic achievements, Stephen obtained certifications to enhance their professional skills. Stephen became a Registered Patent Agent from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in January 2010. Furthermore, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in July 2021.
