Sylvia Schwaag Serger

Sylvia Schwaag Serger is a prominent academic and leader in the field of sustainable development and innovation. Currently serving as Chairperson of the Scientific Council at Formas since January 2022, Sylvia is also a Board Member at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute and a Professor and Deputy Vice Chancellor at Lund University. Additional roles include membership in the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Austrian Council for Research and Technological Development, as well as participation in the European Commission's Expert Group on the Economic and Societal Impact of Research and Innovation. Sylvia has held previous leadership positions such as Chairperson of the Board at STINT and Board Member for various government advisory groups, contributing extensive expertise in economic history with advanced degrees from prestigious institutions including The London School of Economics and Johns Hopkins University.
