Charlotte Sharpe

Director, Research Evaluation and Reporting at Freethink Media

Charlotte Sharpe has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Charlotte started their career as a Mathematics Teacher at Hallsville High School from August 2009 to May 2011. Charlotte then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University's MIST project, where they conducted data collection and published articles on design research and the role of leaders in institutional change from May 2011 to August 2016. Charlotte then joined Syracuse University School of Education as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education and Educational Researcher. During their time there from August 2016 to December 2022, they provided instruction, mentoring, and course design for undergraduate and graduate programs, wrote research articles and grants, and maintained a university-hosted blog on learning research. Most recently, Charlotte has been working at Sharpe Learning Designs as a Learning Experience Designer since July 2021. Charlotte is currently the Director of Research Evaluation and Reporting at Freethink, where they also previously held the role of Senior Instructional Designer.

Charlotte Sharpe holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Education from Vanderbilt University, which was earned between 2011 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Education from East Texas Baptist University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Charlotte has obtained several certifications in various fields related to education and instructional design. These certifications include Agile Instructional Design, Telling Stories with Data, UX Research: Journey Mapping, Measuring Learning Effectiveness, and Data-Driven Learning Design, all of which were obtained from LinkedIn in 2022.
